A portrait in photography is a deliberate depiction of a person or group, aiming to capture not just physical features but also the essence of their personality, mood, or identity. Unlike candid shots, portrait photography often involves posed compositions, with attention given to lighting, background, and framing to enhance the subject’s character. The goal is to create a visually compelling narrative that speaks to who the subject is, often forging an emotional connection between the viewer and the subject. It’s a blend of artistry and documentation, preserving a moment of human expression. Portraits are unique to me as I tend to shoot those who are close to my life. I am however looking to expand and take pictures of everyone and anyone.
